Overview

Bill Shaw designed the Pearson 303 to be a strong, safe vessel for families intending to go day sailing and coastal cruising. Owners frequently can be heard remarking the P303 has a "big boat feel" that defies its 30-foot length. The solid fiberglass hull, lead encapsulated fin keel, keel stepped mast, skeg mounted rudder and bronze seacocks are just some of the 303's big boat features. HERBIE B ll is priced below market value for a quick sale.

Accommodations

Spacious for a 30 footer describes the 303's interior. There is sleeping for five, a comfortable dining area and adequate privacy. At the base of the companionway stairs to port is the small but adequate Galley. It features a well insulated 5 cubic foot ice box, a two burner alcohol stove with oven and hot and cold pressure water. Starboard aft is the quarter berth that doubles as the seat for the navigation desk. The main saloon has port and starboard settees and a drop down bulkhead mounted dining table. The master cabin forward features a large v-berth, 2 small cabinets, a hanging locker and cubbies. The overhead hatch and opening ports allow excellent cross ventilation. The head is to starboard forward of the main saloon. It's large enough not to feel cramped when using the handheld shower. The interior feels bright and airy. The two opening hatches and eight port lights allow for natural lighting and ventilation. The 10'11" beam combined with the 6'3" headroom add to the spacious interior feeling.
