I grew up in Southern California, spending as much time as possible in, on and around the water. Summers at UC Santa Barbara were spent as a lifeguard at a local state beach, so my free time was limited. In fact, my first sail was on a Sunfish off the coast off Danang, Vietnam. When I returned in 1969, I moved to Connecticut and found Long Island Sound boating much more to my liking, and that pleasure has grown steadily with the years. I retired from my career as a self-employed commercial photographer in 1995 and have put my sales skills to use with Brewer Yacht Sales since then. I keep my sweet, old Columbia 28 at the New Haven Yacht Club, where I have served in almost every capacity from Finance Chairman to Commodore.
