HISTORY

The Bill Tripp Jr.–designed Hinckley Bermuda 40 is an American sailing classic. Its lines, mirror-finish varnish, polished stainless steel fittings, and timeless design have drawn admiration from boaters since hull #1 launched in 1960. More than 200 Bermuda 40s were built between 1960 and 1991, and MOONLIGHT is considered one of the best-preserved examples on the market today. MOONLIGHT was originally built to the exacting standards of a Swiss jeweler, who enlisted a Geneva-based architect to oversee her construction in Maine on a monthly basis. After completion, she was shipped to Switzerland and spent twenty years on Lake Geneva's fresh water before returning to The Hinckley Company in Maine in 2001, where her second owner used her for seasonal cruising in New England. Her third owners purchased MOONLIGHT in 2017 and invested more than $200,000 in maintenance and upgrades, including a new engine, new electronics, a renovated galley and head, and refinished exterior varnish.

MOONLIGHT's interior includes a full-width salon, a dedicated navigation station, a galley, a head, and a forward cabin.
