A truly special Ocean Yachts 53 Super Sport with an extensive recent mechanical and cosmetic refit. The starboard Mack E9 received a major overhaul including a new turbo and has approximately 50 hours since completion, while the port E9 received a top-end overhaul with reman E9 Marine cylinder heads, rebuilt injection pump and rebuilt injectors — also approximately 50 hours since completion.

The bottom received a complete new bottom job, including blasting, epoxy work and fairing, four coats of InterProtect and new bottom paint. The hull sides were refinished and the forward bow mask professionally finished in black Awlgrip.

Extensive upgrades continue throughout the vessel, including new canvas, new upholstery, restored teak, updated interior, Fusion audio systems, LED lighting, new appliances and entertainment systems.

Replacing the popular 55 Super Sport in 1991, the 53 Super Sport was built on an all-new Ocean hull design with a sharper entry and slightly increased transom deadrise. The hull changes make

the Ocean 53 a generally better headsea boat than her predecessor with a notably drier ride. Several floorplans were offered over the years, and while three-stateroom layouts have been the most popular, a two-stateroom, galley-down version with a dinette delivers an extremely spacious salon. Although the deckhouse dimensions are slightly smaller than the 55 Super Sport model she replaced, there’s plenty of room for entertaining, and the luxurious furnishings and teak woodwork create a very inviting atmosphere. A transom door was standard in the cockpit, and the fish box was repositioned behind the chair for improved access to the rudder posts. Competitively priced, additional features include a factory hardtop, a well-arranged engine-room, and cockpit controls.
