Alerion 38' Express 38 Yawl
Overview
Alerion Express 38 Yawl
Rarely does such a pretty rare bird come up for sale.
This particularly well kept Alerion has been in the same family for 12 years and it shows. Their attentive ownership has certainly preserved the fine attributes of this boat, from the clean interior, to the care of its sails.
Currently laid up for winter storage at our yard in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, the owners feel they finally have to move away from this lovely vessel and move onto something much smaller and less demanding.
The yawl comes totally equipped for any voyage its new owners may consider. She's fast, easily managed for her size and more than capable to successfully race in most venues one may consider. She has in fact achieved numerous prominent racing results within the last 10 years around New England waters.
However, she was designed primarily as a comfortable, easily managed but fast cruising boat and excels on all these points.
Her cockpit is large enough to accommodate a sizable crew, yet not feel too crowded. Having a self tacking headsail, minimizes sheets coming aft and the fully battened mainsail self stows in lazy jacks. Thus sail controls are pared down for both simplicity, ease on deck and lack of clutter.
Ample storage below means personal gear may be stowed away and not take up interior space, which in turn gives easy access to the large saloon, with its large bi fold table and seating area for comfortable eating and after sail drinks.
Summing up, one could call this Alerion Express 38 yawl, a thoroughly practical, modern cruising yacht, with clean uncluttered lines and yet with a turn of speed which will reward her owners every time she is sailed.
The boat's elderly owners are moving on to smaller boating projects and are keen for their Alerion to be sold. So if this boat is of interest, do not hesitate to schedule a viewing and place a reasonable offer which may be considered.
The Alerion is currently laid up in Portsmouth, Rhode Island and available to be seen by appointment.
