1999 Navigator 53 Classic “ODYSSEY”

Overview

About ODYSSEY | 1999 Navigator Classic 53

Whether you're heading down the ICW, across to the Bahamas, through the Keys, or just spending long weekends on the hook, ODYSSEY has been transformed into a modern cruising yacht. Her owner didn't just maintain original equipment. He invested over $95,000 in systems that improve reliability, comfort, ease of handling, and long-term ownership value.

She's built for extended time at anchor. A Victron-managed 980Ah lithium (LiFePO4) battery bank with inverter/charger and DC-to-DC charging runs refrigeration, freezer, and air conditioning in the master and VIP staterooms without the generator. When it's time to recharge, a few hours on the 13kW Kohler fully replenishes the bank.

Recent mechanical work includes new turbochargers and stainless exhaust elbows, rebuilt Racor fuel filters, full engine and generator service, a new bow thruster and windlass, and Dock mate wireless docking that lets one person bring a 53-footer into the slip.

Many yachts of this vintage still run aging electrical systems, dated electronics, original A/C, and lead-acid batteries. ODYSSEY doesn't. She keeps the proven hull, spacious three-stateroom layout, and twin Volvo Penta power that made the Navigator 53 a respected cruising platform, and adds the comforts of a much newer boat.
